9th & Alder Parking Feasibility Study

TGB Architects is currently providing Pre-Design and Entitlements support for the 9th & Alder property—an important site within Harborview Medical Center’s long-term master plan. As part of Phase 1 of the Harborview Bond Program, this feasibility study is a critical first step in evaluating the site’s potential for expanded medical office space and structured parking.
This project exemplifies our strength in early-phase planning—where strategic thinking, stakeholder alignment, and deep regulatory understanding are key to long-term success. As healthcare systems grow more complex, we’re proud to partner with forward-thinking institutions like Harborview to ensure that every square foot of future development is maximized for impact, flexibility, and community benefit.

Stay tuned as we continue to support meaningful healthcare growth across the region.

KCHO Infusion Services Expansion Study

TGB Architects is also leading a feasibility study for expanding outpatient infusion services at the existing KCHO Resource Center. This patient-focused renovation will improve access to critical care in the community while evaluating future facility needs and regulatory requirements.

Proposed Program Elements:
  • 3 lab draw stations
  • 3–4 infusion chairs
  • Small reception/waiting area
  • Study of new staff break room and restroom in the basement

This study will help KCHO make an informed decision about how best to enhance local care delivery with minimal disruption and maximum impact.

Ttawaxt Birth Center

The Ttawaxt Birth Justice Center, founded and led by Native women, stands on the Yakima Nation Reservation as a place of healing and resilience. It provides prenatal and postnatal care, reproductive health services, childbirth education, plant medicine, and cultural classes.
When the local hospital closed its maternity ward, expectant mothers were forced to travel long distances, heightening risks in a region already burdened by high maternal mortality rates. In response, these women are determined to create a Birthing Center that restores safety, dignity, and cultural grounding to the birthing journey.
They envision not a sterile, hospital-like building, but a gathering of spaces filled with light, air, and views of the land. Here, birth is honored as ceremony, surrounded by family and community. Birthing rooms, clinic space, an apothecary, and gathering places for families and classes encircle an open courtyard shaped by an algorithmic growth spiral—a form found in shells, storms, and galaxies. Like a newborn child, it grows stronger and truer with every turn.
